The Elms, Jennifer Kelly, 6/4/17

My compliments to everyone involved in to-day’s event. Despite having only two rehearsals to prepare an essentially all new program (though there were one or two old favorites in the mix) everything went very smoothly.  There were no huge mental errors and very few hesitations; the covering -  helped somewhat by the rather confined space -  was excellent throughout, and bearing in mind the very hard floor, the footwork was quite acceptable. The dancers looked sharp in their summery costumes, happy and relaxed and there was good eye contact. The music was stellar, as always and I saw a few elderly feet tapping. The small audience looked very dozy to start with but perked up enough to pay attention to both introductions and dancing. No one nodded off! Bridget’s first Red Thistle performance turned out to be a solo event, due to Dave’s back problem, but she carried it off in style.  Well done Bridget. Having sailed through it's introduction should help with the presentation of this program next weekend, when live music will pick up the energy. Thanks for all your hard work1

Jennifer
