Big CONGRATULATIONS to the DIckens Faire performers today!! The show was well organized, the covering was excellent, everyone interacted well with each other, and the dancing throught the program was VERY, VERY nice!! Dave’s Gordon Highlanders was particularly good (both times) — nice shedding! Of course, our musicians were awesome (thanks for your patience and wonderful music!!)!!
Thank you to everyone for your flexibility, for paying attention during the performance, and helping keep the flow going. I know it was difficult to hear the announcements, but everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there. Even though we started late (largely because the band before us wasn’t in a hurry to get out of our band’s way), we ended on a high note, and just barely 2 minutes past 2 PM. I know that dropping the Strathspeys for 4 Ladies, made most of you dance back-to-back numbers, but I think it was a good move and earned us some additional good will (the stage manager thanked me for ending when we did and for our performance). So, THANK YOU, everyone, for going with the flow, so to speak! We had a large audience and many people stayed the entire time, so that says a lot! There were quite a few photographers and some people were recording the dances, too. Fred would’ve been proud (I am)!! THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Happy Christmas to everyone and here's to a great Hogmanay!!
See you in January!
Thanks,
Kamrin
Deborah here, this is my test comment! You too, can add comments, and even pictures! Also, I would note that post-performance I had the only absinthe-free drink at The Bohemian, some cocktail called Jacob's island made of single malt whisky, peach cider, and something else equally wicked. The combination of that, not having eaten since an early breakfast, two back-to-back shows with no break, and my period-correct foundation undergarments, made the drink go straight to my head. Fortunately, my escort and driver, Jamie, managed to find the way out of central London after a few passes.
