The Villages Performance, Jennifer Kelly, 11/16/14

Congratualtions!!  Hoozaah! You did it again.  A lovely performance, much appreciated by the audience, who really loved the music, and Paula. Great to see not only those able and brave enough to dance having a such fun, but the spectators who stayed to watch, thoroughly enjoying the whole thing as well.  Kudos to Paula and the band, with guest fiddler from Boston, a friend of Susan’s. The dancing looked lovely in those 2 large spaces (Sequoias & Villages) and was well covered and technically OK, lots of smiles and good eye contact and improved use of hands.  Good job everyone.  As usual the Highland dancers added sparkle to the program and performed Kamrin’s choreography with style. Thanks Kamrin. We are so fortunate in our musicians it is difficult to know how to say sufficient thank yous. The acoustics, if not the floor, were very good. I enjoyed listening to the whole program, but the harp and violin pieces were particularly good to-day. If you are stiff after two strenuous performances on hard surfaces, try a hot bath with plenty of Epsom salts. It is an old fashioned remedy, but it does help.  See you all on Thursday - ladies with hats and hoops.

And from Susan Worland:

My favorite moment was when a lady from the audience recognized the Ladino tune Calli and I had played!

And overall yes it was great.  Sorry the floor was a bit of a problem, but everything else seemed very good.

My friend Ralph was in San Jose for business (he's a techie) and he asked if we could get together over the weekend.  I said, yes, if you can come to the Villages!  It was fun to see him and fun to have him play along at the end of the participatory part of the program.

Happy Turkey Day to all!

   Susan
