Sequoias, Jennifer Kelly, 1/28/17

After an amazingly smooth rehearsal which not only got us out of the door before 10.00 pm but even allowed useful time to work on Dancing Feet with our musicians, I was a little nervous about last night’s performance - great dress rehearsal; poor show etc. - but I certainly need not have been. You all excelled yourselves and the audience was rapt. The space is ideal for us, though the floor is a little hard, and everything we performed looked good.  The bright colored skirts were just right for a cold evening and the black vests worked well with the casual shirts (we need more pink!) As usual our talented musicians excelled themselves and left everyone wanting more and the arrangements for the medleys were great fun. Let’s keep the Burns one for Corn Riggs. Kudos to Deborah on her successful first public perfor

mance of a sword dance and to Sharon for coming through, like Wells Fargo, despite very adverse conditions. Many audience members had nice things to say about the show and I am sure we shall be welcomed back at some time. It is also likely that a busload will attend the concert. If anyone knows of other establishments like Sequoias, with retirees, NOW is the time to get publicity to them.  Onolee told me last night that our event is ideal for them but everything depends on booking the bus before some other event claims priority, so send fliers at once! Have a great weekend, before the rain returns and we will move on to the concert/St. Patrick’s day programs on Thursday.

Jennifer
