Red Thistle Dancers is pleased to announce that, starting March 1, Fred DeMarse will be our new Artistic Director.
Fred has an impressive list of dance qualifications! Originally from Michigan, Fred moved to California in 1984. He started Scottish Country dancing in 1986 and earned his Full Certificate in 1996. He achieved his Highland Dance teaching certificate in 1995 and, after retiring from dance competition, his Highland Dance judging qualification in 2002. He has traveled extensively as a dancer, teacher and Highland judge, including all around North America, the UK, Russia and many other European countries and most recently New Zealand.
Fred has danced with Red Thistles since 1990. He has learned a great deal about Scottish dancing as a member of the group and is looking forward to furthering the group's mission of sharing and promoting a love of Scottish Dancing and Music to the greater community.
