Great work everyone. You handled a difficult program,
with last minute substitutions, like the pros. you are. Yes, there were some bobbles, one, at least, quite noticeable but you managed to recover and the smiles, teamwork deportment, energy and joy were all present in spades. This was a choreographically challenging program but you rose to the occasion and many were the compliments we received. The colored skirts are still a hit and they do move beautifully and look very well with the velvet vests. We were fortunate in the weather, which could have been much more taxing (and apparently is working its way up to another scorcher soon) Special congratulations to Kevin, who handled a punishing load with apparent ease and Denise for stepping in at the last moment a doing a beautiful job, including getting her set back on track. The music was inspiring, delightful and right on tempo. What more could one ask! Thank you Lyle, Michael and Susan. We could NOT do this without you.
The adjudication set acquitted itself very well also, and received far more compliments that negative comments from the two astute judges. Given the tricky transitions I was impressed at how smoothly it went. If a direct comment was made to you on something that could be improved, please take it to heart and work on that issue. Such comments are not made lightly. Congratulations all round.
I am looking forward to returning to working out Corn Riggs in the next week or two, among other things, so see you all on Thursday.
